So, sometime last week... Let's see... I think it was Friday morning. Yes, Friday morning--The trash haulers across the street ripped down our internet, phone, and cable TV wires. Two of which we don't use, not having cable or a land line, but one of which we do use. A lot. Especially my mother, who was trying to work from home using remote-desktop connection, and ~Yuuei, who was trying to get work done on the final project for his web design class (Apparently, when he tells people that's what it is, they often say "Oh, so are you using DreamWeaver?". But really, he's building DreamWeaver.). Unfortunately, the wires are Verizon wires, so they're obligated to fix them, but we have Speakeasy phone and internet service, so Verizon couldn't care less about us.
The result is that, over the week, my mother had to repeatedly call Speakeasy, who would repeatedly call Verizon and Covad. Verizon would repeatedly send individual guys over with no equipment, all of whom would say "Yes, this is four-hour job for two men with a cherry-picker", or, alternatively, say it was Covad's problem. Covad had it's folks over in India repeatedly running loop-tests to confirm that the wires were, in fact, down.
Finally, on Tuesday, Covad sent over a very helpful man who said he really couldn't do anything, because they were Verizon wires, but he did mark which wires were to be hooked up to which ends, so that the Verizon guys who came today would have no excuse.
And now, our internet is back up. Yay.
Also, there is a certain likelihood that the driver of the truck that pulled down the cables will be fired or something like that, because when he pulled the wires down, it was with the claw of the truck, but he claims that if he did it, it was when he was pulling away, and he couldn't have known about it. However, the truck was still there for some time after the wires were pulled down, and somebody not in this household carried the wires up to the side of our house, but didn't think to knock on our front door and tell us the wires were down. Hmmmm.

Anyway, that is why I haven't been on for a while, and also why you're about to be flooded with all the stuff I've drawn since then. And just so people know, from now on, I'm gonna be posting a lot of stuff (Pretty much anything that isn't colored or inkwashed) under scraps.

Also, :icontakaraichinam: tagged me.

* 1. Post these rules.
* 2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about their self on their journal.
* 3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people and post their icons on the same journal.
* 4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
* 5. No tag-backs.

1. This semester, I studied for the two classes I was taking at Harvard Extension for maaaaybe three hours total. I scored 100% on Japanese, and something like 95% on statistics. We were covering stuff I hadn't learned before in Japanese, and statistics is a totally new subject for me.
2. My drawing style changes depending on what I'm watching/reading. Because all I ever draw is fan art.
3. I cannot draw on the computer. Same as using a WYSIWYG program. It's so damn boring.
4. I can make a pun out of almost any sentence with more than two content words in it. (Provided it's presented as part of a conversation--Otherwise, it's nearly impossible)
5. I'm really, really bad at fighting games.
6. I have no sense of future consequences or self control when it comes to certain things, like staying up late or watching anime for eight hours straight. However, I seem to have more common sense and sense of future consequences than others if I'm in a group of other people.
7. I'm pretty polite to people I know, but people I bump into in the street tend to get elbowed or at least a really nasty look if they're in my way. Or maybe that's just because I'm a New Englander. Hm.
8. I hate stupid people and children. Like, pathologically. So I do my best to avoid them.

I tag... :iconlauscho: :iconshikamarvin: :iconjysella: :iconsakebi-chan: :iconemere: :iconx-a-s: :icongao: and... Arrrrgh darn it, curse that stupid "no tag-backing" rule. I think I just ran out of friends.
All right! :iconmibello: has to do it too! There, that's eight :mwahaha:

I did think about buying one, and I have a minitablet, but... Still, compared to just pulling out one of my Multiliners and inking the thing? Computer inking is too much trouble XD

Well... The thing about a pen is, it takes few minutes, but I can do it all in one go. With the computer, first I do the lineart, then I have to go over with an eraser or something and smooth it out, and all that nonsense XD

Haha, well, the good thing about a computer is that once you've done it, you can then start over and do it again--With traditional media, once you've done it, it's done, and the closest you can get to redoing it is to trace it, and, well... Transparent paper is rarely very nice to draw on :(
